Then on Sunday someone had the brilliant idea to take on the epic challange of shopping at costco during the weekend. Needless to say this was our most challenging adventure yet.
All photos were lost during this trip. The crazy shopping cart lady stole my photos.
Later we headed to a local golf course and hit some balls around.

For the past week my brother, Drew Larrigan and his girl friend, Lauren Hildesheim have been visiting from Washington. Over this time we explored the mountains of Santa Monica, walked the beaches of Venice, enjoyed the relaxing vibe of orange county and yes, even the tripped out at the wonderful world of Disney Land. It truly was a fun and enjoyable experience.
To Drew and Lauren, thanks for coming down and visiting. I had a blast while you guys where here. Probably one of the funnest times I have had in a long time. Any time you guys want to come down again just let me know.
Check out Lauren’s Photos (I touched them up a bit :-p )
and the only 2 photos I took…..

Once I stepped off the plane a smell twisted my nose. It was a smell of landfill, curry and baby diapers. A smell the haunts your dreams and your reality.
Here are some photos from my easter trip to Washington.

This is by far one of the most beautiful places in southern California. We plan to head back in spring to scale a waterfall!
Soo, apparently I forgot exposure bias was a feature! Most of my shots turned out way under exposed so I ran some cheesy filters over them to restore a few.

Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Yosemite with a friend of mine, Christian. We talked it over and figured out now was as good as any time to run away from civilization for a weekend. So, we packed up, bought some new snow shoes and headed off to northern California.
The drive it self was filled with talk of what we could be doing in Yosemite. We had ideas of hiking to the top of yosemite falls and posting up at the Awahee bar to talk to ladies and interesting old people. At one point we even considered spending most of our time locked up hacking on some project. After hours passed we concluded that not having a plan would be our new plan.
The first day of our trip consisted of a few small hikes around Yosemite. Nothing particularly interesting except for one small lake, Mirror lake. This time of year most of the water in Yosemite freezes over. However this particular lake does not just freeze over with a small sheet of ice, it freezes over with a huge sheet. One so thick it could support the weight of both of us plus many small asian girls.
After a full day of hiking we decided to go to the Awahee bar and find some interesting people to talk to. Sadly there were not very many people around so we helped our selves to a few jack and cokes and some wine. Shortly after we decided to call it a night and head back to our hotel.
Sunday arrived and for some strange reason we woke up at 8am. Which brought a problem for us. How could we possibly spend all this day light exploring. We were fairly certain we did everything we wanted to do in Yosemite the day before. Around an hour later we finally decided that we would attempt the hike that would eventually lead us to one of the most amazing adventures we had ever experienced. The hike to the top of Yosemite Falls.
Check back for part 2.

Round 1. Mnt G 1, hikers 0
This hike was ruthless. We started out at Bill’s cousin’s house at around 11:30am. He gave us the 411 on the hike and told us we were in over our heads. As you would expect we didn’t take his advice and began the hike. We started out on a half mile trek to the trail head. Which was strangely hard. The base of our hike was at roughly 6000 feet. When you live at 0 feet and start walking at 6000 feet you notice the difference real quick. The first mile of the hike consisted of about a 2000 foot elevation gain over about 1 mile. As you might have guessed we took quite a few breaks to reach the 1 mile mark. Once we finally reached the 1 mile mark we came across a very attractive female hiker. Bill laid on the moves but in the end she told us we were in over our heads then headed up the mountain. We finally realized that we were over our heads and decided to take a detour to a water fall. The water fall had no trails but we figured that we would find it eventually if we fallowed the steam down the mountain. After a short 20 minute walk we found it and it was glorious. We ended up eating lunch there then heading down 2 hours later.
Hope you enjoy the photos below.
Enlightening

Today has been a very enlightening day for me. It started out at roughly 9:00am this morning at my first meeting. When I arrived at the meeting, which took place on Venice beach, I was in awe of how many people were there. I instantly became very skeptical of the whole meeting thing. However, after around 30 minutes in I started to think otherwise. I think my whole view of the problem has been skewed. I think a lot of peoples views of the problem are skewed. Any way, this meeting isnt the point of my writing so I am going to move on.
Instead of having Chris pick me up I decided that I would walk the beach home. My first stop was at a metal smith who was selling some amazing metal and leather bracelets, which I decided to buy. Any way, I talked to him for about 20 minutes about life and living in Venice. This wasnt the enlighten part but it was cool to listen to his stories and how he made his jewelry.
Now comes the enlightening part. I have always been a little skeptical of astrology and the like. Yet, I have always been interested by it as well. After about a 5-minute walk away from the metal smith I man under an umbrella called out to me. Hey dude with the thing pointing out of his face, come here. So, always being curious of this astrology stuff I said screw it lets chat. I sat down next to him and the first two questions he asked were, whats your name and you birth day. I answered then thought to myself, ugh here we go. But it ended up turning out quite the opposite. He started talking about who I am, things that I do and like. And for the most part he hit every single thing on the button. He basically described everything about my positive points, my negative points and how I roll. By the way, I know now that my power, energy and drive comes from the 4 elements. The most powerful of which is wind. Which is strangely true. Part of the reason I love hiking so much is because when I get to the top I can be totally alone with the wind. I let it consume me. It is the greatest feeling and every time I feel like I can do anything. The second element is water. We only touched on this briefly but he said that this one is both your best friend and enemy.
Any way next came the cards. I drew my first three. I can only remember two though. One was control and the other was success. After tying all of them together the summation was the following. I dont like to be told no. If I want you to do something you should say yes. I also like to be in control. Next was that I am currently successful but there is still something to do. Something I havent finished or something that I am distended to do. I am not sure about it but it sounds cool. And finally was that I am a sage. I am like him but I am not complete yet. So, stop trying to be one now and just wait for people to come to you on their own.
The next set of cards was picked out with the thoughts of relationships in my mind. Once I gave them back but before he looked at them he said we should talk about relationships. At that point I think I was tripping out. Any way, the first card was slow down and the second was something with fruit on it. He said stay away from drinking. Stay away from women who like to drink a lot. From now on drinking is not good for you. Strange he said that huh? Next he said move slower. Move slower in everything, life work and relationships. He said I am doing too much in the line of work and not enough in other areas, balance your self out. Also do not worry about women. The one for me is not near yet. She will most likely be a country girl. Not smoking hot but attractive. Something you will enjoy looking at for the rest of your life. She will be mellow and laid back. Not a partier. Most likely she will be blonde and kind of a hippie. You will know when you see here. She will most likely be very similar to your mom in respect to how she treats you and cares for you. I responded with sweet.
Now it was time to wrap up. It was time for his final words of advice. He said, first off I want to tell you not to fear dieing. Its not something you will need to worry about. But, watch out for small spaces and the ocean. Which is strange cause I dont particularly enjoy either of those. Next he told me that I need to travel. Try Asia. That area will suite you. Which is cool, because I have always wanted to go there. He then asked if I have ever wanted to sail. I said, yes actually, I have wanted to sign up to learn for about a year now. He told me to do it. You can solve all of your issues with it. You can be in control our your crew and ship. You can travel to Asia. Head straight for Japan. And then very quickly he said detach. Detach from everything and do it often. Youre a cancer and with that you grab on to things, ideas, concepts and projects and dont let go until you have finished. He said your best bet is meditation and yoga. Then we were done. I thanked him and told him I will return.
The whole rest of my 2-hour walk home I thought about all of this. And am still thinking about it. Its been a very interesting day and I am happy to have experienced it.
